HER motorcycle diaries

it was alright today. revision circuit, i mean. the people taking it with me were pretty nice and friendly, except for--ironically--the feringhee. ohwell. apaperlah asal dier bahagier.

i was early cos nat wanted to book her TP, so while i was printing my receipt at the kiosk, there were a couple of riding mats. who were making quite a din, and one of them did a whole big production of reading my name out loud. embarrassing, that was. too bad they weren't cute. the skinny one kinda looks familiar, i must have had one of my practs with him.

anyway i also bumped into aishah again. actually i was dying to stay and talk about stuff--what she's doing now, etc--but i was gonna be late [no, actually, but u know i like to be early rather than on time], so i left after exchanging pleasantries. maybe i'll talk to her another time. to her credit, she looks quite cute as a lim. haha.

so i was just hanging out and stuff before 425, and who did i see walking infront of nat but zaki/raki!!! i nearly died. firstly cos he is SO DAMN HOT, and secondly cos of his sheer presence. i mean, what if he updates my sister that i haven't, in fact, quit riding? i was gonna talk to him, but i was too nervous about impending falls and stuff, so i thought i'd talk to him after warmup [missed my chance cos of the individual pract briefings], or maybe after the whole pract [missed my chance again cos he left ASAP as usual]. since he's such a brilliant rider and since he was at pract 8, i can only assume he already cleared it just now, and the next time he'll be in the area will prolly be for TP. so u know, if i'm in the neighbourhood then, i'll try and talk to him. of course by that time it'll be a little late--and therefore useless, so i don't know.

anyway. technical-wise, i've decided i only like the new bikes when i'm not riding them. they have too much power! i wanna use the old bikes! i totally can't get used to them! and some are SO weird. apparently some have higher seats and others have lower seats, so, as a shorter individual, i'm supposed to take the ones with the lower seats. some have really sensitive gears (#9), so when i go up to 2nd, it frequently stalls. some are REALLY weird in conformation (#1). i swear. the handlebars are macam, short, and at an odd, almost acute angle. and the seat feels like it's missing something. it grabs too hard infront, and not nearly enough behind. i dunno, something like that. well i tried 2 other bikes today, one that ivin certified has a lower seat (#19), and one that appeared to be the same (#11), and they gave kinda-okay results, although #19 was better at plank and #11 was better at figure 8s. i'm still wobbly at the slalom though, i swear it's the incredible power of the new bikes. how annoying. and yes my legs are aching already. what do the old bikes have that the new bikes don't? i mean, same model and everything, so what could possibly be the difference here?

as for the fall factor, i only fell once at the crank course [infront of a WHOLE bunch of 2A/2 pract 2 people, btw], and i managed to save the bike from any real injury [same for me!], so i guess it was okay, other than the embarrassment, which i already suffer all the time anyway.

can't stand the congestion though. E-brake was in use, and so was the figure 8. i hate queueing behind the smelly exhaust pipes of the class 2 bikes, so i generally skipped the E-brake and concentrated on figure 8, which, as many would know, is one of my weakest. i made it without falling though, so i guess that's a good thing. gotta brush up my plank and slalom, and fine-tune the E-brake again. yup.
